Tolbachik, Russia
To the south of Shiveluch is Tobalchik, still erupting rivers of basalt lava. It has now been over 5 months of almost constant effusive of lavas from Tolbachik, meaning that the lava flows have developed remarkable channels from the active vent, which is still home to a small lava lake and a growing cinder cone on the southern fissure. Be sure to check out some of the images of these lava flows and volcanic features at Tolbachik captured by two photographers from Kyrgyzstan. If this eruption of Tolbachik is anything like the previous one in 1976 (and so far it seems to be very similar), we could be looking at a year's worth of lava flow from this Kamchatkan volcano.
